How to Turn Off Finger Drawing in Procreate - How To Make Procreate Ignore Your Hand
Share
There’s a way to make Procreate ignore your hand - how’s that helpful? If you draw with just your Apple Pencil or stylus, you’ve probably had a moment where you put your hand on the screen and it accidentally makes a mark on your canvas. If this is true of you, you may find it helpful to know that there’s a way to turn off finger painting in Procreate. Follow the steps below to turn off painting with your finger in Procreate.
1. Tap Actions. On the drawing interface (the canvas) you’ll find Actions as a button in the top left corner; it looks like a wrench.
2. Tap Preferences. On Actions, you’ll see Prefs as a menu tab option.
3. Tap Gesture Controls. After you tap the Prefs menu tap option, you’ll find Gesture Controls as an option. Tap it.
4. Go to General. Once the gesture controls are brought up, go to the General section.
5. Turn off painting with your finger. At the top of General, you’ll find an option titled “Enable painting with finger”. If the toggle is blue, you can paint with your finger. If you turn the toggle off, (it will be grey) then you won’t be able to paint with your finger.
6. Tap “Done” in the top right corner. Now you don’t have to worry about your hand making an accidental mark.
That’s how you turn off finger painting in Procreate.
