How to Make Scratch Art in Procreate
Share
Scratch art is super fun! There’s a way you can do scratch art in Procreate too! Just follow the instructions down below and you’ll be able to make your own scratch art in Procreate.
Before we begin, I would like to share with you the two brushes I prefer to use for scratch art. The first brush is the Everything Brush. I use this for getting the scratch art ready. The second brush is The Do-It-All Brush, which I use for the scratching part. The Everything brush is available for sale by itself on this website. The Everything Brush and The Do-It-All Brush are available in our Essential Drawing Set, which is on this website.
How to make scratch art in Procreate:
1. Fill the canvas with all of the desired colors. An example is below. (For steps 1-4 I prefer to use The Everything Brush.)

2. Blur the colors
Go to adjustments (looks like a magical wand in the top left corner). Tap “Gaussian Blur”. Now slide your finger across the screen (towards the right) to increase the blur. Tap the Adjustments button again to save the blur. Your screen should look similar to the picture below.

3. Add a new layer
Tap layers (looks like two squares in the top right corner). Add a new layer by tapping the plus sign in the top right corner of the panel that just appeared.

4. Cover the canvas in black
Now that you’ve created a new layer, cover the whole canvas in black.
5. Scratch
Change to the erase tool (I prefer The Do-It-All Brush for this step) and erase what you want to create your own scratch art!
