How To Make A Shadow in Procreate - Add A Drop Shadow In Procreate
Share
Here’s an easy way to add a realistic shadow to your drawing in Procreate. Use this method to create a drop shadow in Procreate.
Follow this easy step-by-step method to create a shadow in Procreate.
1. Duplicate the layer that you want to add the shadow to. Do this by going to layers, putting your finger on the layer and sliding it to the left. This will bring up three buttons, one of which is duplicate.
2. Use transform (looks like a computer mouse in the top left corner of the Procreate interface) to move the shadow layer to place where you want the shadow to be. Make sure you’re in the “Uniform” mode. Tap the transform button to save the changes.
3. Move the shadow below the object. In layers, hold your finger on the shadow layer until it bobs, then move it below the object layer.
4. Adjust the brightness so the shadow is black. In adjustments, go to “Hue, Saturation, Brightness”. Adjust the brightness slider so it is at “None” (0%).
5. Blur the shadow. In Adjustments, go to “Gaussian Blur”. Slide your finger across the screen to the right to increase the blur. When you’re happy with the amount of blur, tap the Adjustment’s button to save the blur.
6. Adjust. If you’re not happy with the shadow, use Transform. You can move the shadow again, change the size, and, if you change it to the “Distort” mode, you can change the length of the shadow.
