How to change opacity when drawing on Procreate

Welcome! In this blog post, let me show you how to change opacity when drawing in Procreate.

Before we get started, I want to make it clear what we are changing when we change opacity. We aren’t changing the minimum and/or maximum opacity settings of a brush. The minimum and maximum opacity settings of a brush determine the scale of how high or low we want the opacity of a brush to be. To change opacity, we need to change the opacity of a brush’s stroke.

To change the opacity of a brush’s stroke, we need to find the side bar. The side bar should be on the left side of your screen.

There should be two sliders on the side bar. The bottom one determines the opacity of a brush. The higher the slider is, the more opaque the brush stroke will be. The lower the slider is, the more transparent the brush stroke will be.

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed and will read our other blog posts and join our email list. Also, make sure you check out our digital brushes for Procreate. Check out one of our brush sets below.
