I improved this much in ONE YEAR and I’ll show you how I did it! My drawing skills have improved DRAMATICALLY!

Watch the video:

I’ve been doing drawing on my YouTube channel (The Creativity City) and on this website for over one year now, and I’ve found that I’ve improved in my sketching skills. A year ago I drew in a cartoony style. Now I draw a bit more realistic. How’d I do it? How did I improve? By how much did I improve? First, I’ll show you the drawings from a year* ago, and then the new versions of the drawings.

*Rougly a year ago

These are just two pictures I’ve re-drawn, but they are better than the first ones.

So how do you do it? How do you improve? It’s a simple answer that might disappoint you, but it’s very important. How do you improve your drawing skills? You keep drawing. Don’t go yet! There’s more.

Try drawing new things with different perspectives. Test your drawing theories out so you can know which theory works better. This will help your drawings improve dramatically. The more you draw and the more new theories you try will combine to increase your drawing skills. You can also see how others do it, but only certain things will or won’t work for you, because God created you uniquely. You simply have to do trial and error to find what works best for you. No artist is the same and none of their artwork looks the same either. So although this seems like the long and boring way to improve, it’s really not! This is how all artists get better at drawing; they draw more! At first, it won’t be a lot of fun, but once you get drawing you’ll find a great way to draw one thing, and then another, and before you know it you’ll enjoy drawing and will find your drawing skills skyrocketing! So, get out there and start drawing!
