How to save on Procreate - how to save drawings and animations from Procreate to photos

In this blog post, I’m going to show you how to save drawings and animations from Procreate to photos.

How to save drawings

To learn how to save drawings to photos, we’ll start from the Procreate Gallery. From Gallery, tap on the desired drawing. Once you’re on the canvas, click Actions, which is in the top left corner of the screen and looks like a wrench.

Click ‘Share’. Under ‘Share Image’ there is a list of formats you can choose to export your drawing. Click the desire format, wait for the export to be successful, then click ‘Save Image’ to save the drawing to your photo library.

How to save an animation

To learn how to save an animation from Procreate to photos, we’ll start from the Procreate Gallery. From Gallery, tap on the canvas that features the animation. From the Canvas, click Actions, which is in the top left corner of the screen and looks like a wrench. Click on ‘Share’.

Under ‘Share layers, there will be many formats you can choose to export your animation in. I suggest either the Animated MP4 format or the Animated HEVC format, because these two formats are the only two formats I’ve found that export the animation as a video instead as a single picture. Next, choose a format, wait for the export to be successful, and choose ‘Save Video’ to save the animation.
