The Procreate grid is very helpful, so to know how to add a grid in Procreate is important. In this blog post, I’ll teach you exactly how to add a Procreate grid to your drawing.
The Procreate guide is called the “Drawing Guide”.
To turn the drawing guide on, go to Actions (looks like a wrench), then to the canvas section. Tap the toggle for the drawing guide and a guide will appear. If this isn’t the type of grid you want, keep reading.
There are different grids for your drawing guide. Click ‘Edit Drawing Guide’ to change the drawing guide’s grid. You can also change the color, the opacity, the size and the thickness of the drawing guide’s lines here; however, I won’t teach you how to do that in this blog post.

There are only 4 grid types, so it is possible the type you want isn’t here. These are the grid types Procreate includes:
(1) 2D Grid: This is the default grid. It is made of horizontal and vertical lines.
(2) Isometric Grid: This grid is similar to the 2D grid, but the lines are diagonal. This makes the grid appear to be made of triangles.
(3) Perspective Grid: This grid’s lines are determined by points you add. Tap on the canvas to add vanishing points, which is where lines from every direction will merge and vanish.
(4) Symmetry Grid: This grid has (by default) has one line down the middle of the canvas. If you turn on drawing assist, drawing on one side of the line produces the same image on the other side of the line. Learn more about symmetry here.
